Correlation between disease activity and markers of coagulation cascade in patients of chronic spontaneous urticaria: a hospital based cross-sectional study

Background: Both extrinsic as well intrinsic coagulation cascade are involved in the pathogenesis of Chronic spontaneous urticaria. This study was done to correlate disease activity and markers patients CSU. Methods: A hospital-based, cross-sectional, descriptive carried out 100 chronic Baseline D-Dimer, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time performed. Disease assessed using Urticaria score over 7 days. Results: Of total patients, d-dimer raised 72 (72%) patients. Correlation between D-dimer UAS-7 days showed significant covariance (p<0.001, r=0.93). Prothrombin 55 (55%) Significant correlation found PT r=0.76). Raised APTT observed 61(61%) that there a r=0.59). Conclusions: CSU seen. These can help predict severity possibly monitor therapeutic response.
